An interview of Nombulelo Vokwana, our English language assistant

An interview of Nombulelo Vokwana, our English language assistant

A few months ago, on 17th October 2017, we met Nombulelo Vokwana, she’s a South African woman.

She was born in South Africa and she lives in Nelson Mandela Bay. She’s 27 years old and she’s an only child. In Africa, she worked in a hospital, she was a nurse, and before she was a waitress.

In Africa, she likes meat and in France she also loves goat cheese. In her free time, she enjoys relaxing and singing (in class she sang “Someone like you” by Adele). Her favorite singers are Adele, Joyce Jonathan and Stromae. Her favorite actor is Mr Bean and she loves “Harry Potter”. She likes the rain, travelling. She’s already been to Spain, England and France and has already visited London and Paris.

She wanted to come to France to learn French but her parents don’t understand why.

When she arrived in France, some people helped her to carry her luggage. For her, Paris is beautiful but there are so many people ! For her, the biggest difference between Africa and France is the school because in South Africa, school finishes at 2pm but in France, school finishes at 5pm.

Now she lives in Vaudreuil and she has the DELF exam (An exam in French for non-French speakers). After her year or more in France, she would like to go to Ireland.

Throughout the interview, she looked outgoing, friendly, sociable, a cheerful and happy person, and she sings well !
